Preschool Orientation!!!

Jackson has been looking forward to this day for quite some time, as have I!!!  Yesterday morning he and I went for a 45-minute orientation for preschool.  He had such a good time, and he even started to cry when it was time to leave!  LOL  He is going to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church's three-day preschool.  He will attend Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:30am-12:30pm.  The ONLY downside to this gig is he doesn't get to ride the school bus yet.  He is DEFINITELY counting down the days to that one...
I didn't get any picture in his "home" classroom, but the first activity was to sit on the rug and work to arrange the letters of his name.  This was SO frustrating for me, as a teacher/parent combo, since I KNOW he can spell his name, but he wasn't doing it!!!  None of the other kids got it either...  Jackson's teacher's name is Mrs. Hughes and there are three other boys ins class and one girl.
Next we moved over to the art room where each child got to play with some play-dough while the parents heard about art and science.
The quiet room was next and the kids worked on puzzles while we heard more about the mornings.  This classroom is another class's "home" classroom--I like that the kids won't be in the same room all morning.
The kids sat down to have snack while the parents went to listen to more of the business side of things from Mrs. McCarty, the preschool director.  The picture above is of the kids folding their hands to say a blessing before eating their snack--they were so sweet :)  Cheez-its and apple juice were a BIG hit!
Josh and I LOVED getting so much time with Jackson to do fun, family things!  But, we are both so excited to see how he will grow this next year.  We are looking forward to new friends, new skills, and just some good maturation!

Pictures from the first day coming soon...
