A Trio of Snow Days!

We had an amazing getaway weekend with the Buerstattes over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend!  And, we came home to no school for THREE days!!!  It did snow for the majority of the day on Tuesday, but the last two days were more "cold days" than snow...
 Super-hero Cowboy!
We took advantage of all of the snow to get out and play!  Jackson LOVED sledding down the huge hill in the Bashores!  They played outside for a couple of hours complete with rides on the sled being towed by Mr. Jake's riding mower :)
Josh took Graham down right away!
 Off they go!
And, they went down and around and around and around SUPER fast!
Spinning out just a little ;)
Graham was a good sport despite the total face-plant in the snow!
 Jackson's turn!
Snow munchkin!

Snow days are excellent for movies, fires, chili, potato soup, playing games, reading, and friends!  We got a little bit of all that in over the last three days!
Yesterday, I traded baby holding services for a few grocery items :)  Rachel went off to the grocery store minus four children, and she was nice enough to pick up the few things I needed, but really didn't feel like venturing out for!  LOL
These three spent quite a long time devouring the High Five magazines I have saved!  They mostly loved the Hidden Pictures pages :)
Levi's always happy to play at our house!
Getting in as many snuggles with Baby Matthias before our friends move this summer :(
Graham was excited to see a baby!
He was super sweet and loved tickling his feet!

Today there was a two-hour delay, but preschool starts on time anyways.  YAHOO!!!  Squeezing in one day at least before another long weekend...

Accessorizing and Raking Leaves

Just like Jackson around this age, Graham found my purse and took it for a whirl!
He kept coming by us waving until we would say, "BYE!"
 Bye, Graham!
Off he goes!  Too bad he doesn't have any shoes on to match the bag...
Never mind that we had recent snow and cold days--today was time to rake the leaves!  More like play in them :)
 Boy, those leaves can fly!
Love this frog-helmet wearing boy :)
Graham loved this game!

Cold Day!

After our snow day last week, what did we need next, but a cold day!  I'm from Chicago, and THIS, this is just craziness!
We bundled up and went to the mall for some errand running and some time at the play area.  Graham had A BALL!!!  He was able to climb on just about everything.  He especially loved this slide!
Jackson loved catching him!
 Chasing each other
 Ahoy, Matey!
Happy boy with our time off of school :)

Snow Day!

Well, we got one day of school in before it snowed and we had a snow day!
Jackson was so excited to go build a snowman, but he was a pretty good sport when we realized the snow was too powdery to build anything :(  He was thrilled to make snow angels and walk around the yard collecting sticks for the snowman we didn't make.
 Jackson's snow angel!
He was really all about the hot chocolate, so the powdery snow and cold just got us inside faster to have a warm treat!
After Graham woke up from his nap, we headed to the library for some new books and some fun with puzzles.
This particular branch has a turtle named Squirt, who the boys love!  Graham especially loved climbing up on the stool by the tank!
After lunch and naps, we had bath time and then fire and movie time!
 Brothers in puppy jammies!
I was trying to get Graham to lie down by the fire like Jackson...
 Just about got it!
Graham sat with Jackson for about five seconds before climbing off the couch.

Pretty great snow day :)

Snuggle Buggle #2 Snuggles a Moose

We broke out the stroller for Graham to play with, and he was all about it as soon as he saw it!
T.C. got a drink, a sitting down hug,
 a standing up hug,
and a push around the kitchen!

Happy 2014!

We had such a fun New Years Eve!  The last day of 2013 was really nice, so after the Yanceys arrived, Susie and I took a walk to return a movie at Redbox.  Jackson rode his bike and Rachel borrowed his scooter.  They were pretty cute :)
For the past FIVE years, I have made special hats for Jackson for NYE!  (Of course, for Graham too once he was born!)  I made some for Rachel and Ben...and then we attempted to take a picture of all four of them...!
LOVE these two crazy boys!  We can't wait to see what the next year brings!
These three crack me up!
Graham and Ben being friends :)
We pretty much ate our way through the night :)  We had lots of different snacks for dinner.  After the kids went to bed we moved our small table into the family room and enjoyed dessert, the fire, football, and games.  We stayed up pretty late playing video games and chatting (I'm pretty sure you can figure out who was doing which).  Loved ringing in the new year with great friends :)
